The race atop our weekly High Desert football picks tightened up a little last week.
Todd Hadler and HD Football Report both turned in perfect 9-0 records, while Jose Quintero went 8-1 to maintain his lead in the season-long standings.
Quintero’s lone miss came in one of the closest games of the week. He took Serrano over Hesperia, but the Scorpions escaped with a 28-27 victory after stopping a two-point conversion attempt in the final minute.
Quintero is now 82-16 overall, with Hadler just two games back at 80-18.
HD Football Report’s perfect week moved it to 75-23, while James Quigg went 8-1 to improve to 72-26. Jason Reed finished 7-2 and now sits at 67-31.
With the regular season winding down and the standings still within reach, every pick is starting to matter a little more.
Here’s where everyone stands and who we’re taking in Week 9.
Each week we will keep a running tab of our leaderboard throughout the season, up until there are no local teams left vying for a CIF-Southern Section title in the playoffs.
