BMF GRUP, a local entrepreneurial group founded in 2011, announced that it acquired ENGIE Building Solutions from ENGIE Servicii, a company owned by ENGIE Romania. The transaction was completed on October 15 following approval from the Competition Council, while its financial terms were not disclosed.
ENGIE Building Solutions provides integrated technical management and energy services for industrial and commercial properties and office buildings. Its activities include technical maintenance and energy management, as well as engineering, procurement, and construction projects.
The company’s portfolio covers photovoltaic installations, battery energy storage systems, building management systems, and projects designed to reduce energy use and carbon emissions.
“Through this integration, we are strengthening our teams and expanding our range of facility management, energy efficiency, and decarbonization services,” said Gabriel Tomescu, co-founder and CEO of BMF GRUP. “We will use this expertise to coordinate our services more effectively and help clients manage their operating costs efficiently.”
BMF GRUP said the acquisition would allow it to provide property management, maintenance, cleaning, and security alongside the design and implementation of building modernization projects.
“The integration of the two organizations brings together our team’s expertise, strengthened by the many EPC projects we have delivered over the years, with BMF GRUP’s integrated offering and operational capabilities,” said Adina Susanu, director of ENGIE Building Solutions.
Before the acquisition, BMF GRUP employed more than 5,000 people and managed over 15 million sqm of properties. The company expects its turnover to exceed EUR 120 million in 2026, with more than 93% generated through private-sector contracts.
BMF GRUP was founded in Romania in 2011 and has been expanding in partnership with private equity firm SARMIS Capital since 2023.
“This acquisition marks a decisive step forward in the consolidation strategy we committed to together with BMF GRUP from the outset of our partnership,” said Cezar Scarlat, managing partner and founder of SARMIS Capital.
ENGIE Building Solutions has operated on the Romanian market since 2001. Its acquisition forms part of ENGIE’s strategic portfolio refocusing, while the energy group continues its other activities in Romania.
