‘Ice Cream’, which marked the film debuts of Sariful Razz, Nazifa Tushi and Kumar Uday, arrives on Chorki at midnight tonight (October 20), a decade after its theatrical release. Written and directed by Redoan Rony, the film opened in cinemas on April 29, 2016.
Reflecting on her debut, Tushi recalled entering the industry with little understanding of filmmaking. She said, “I stepped into cinema without knowing or understanding how vast a canvas it was.
I knew nothing about the industry. All I knew was that I wanted to act. At the time, very few alternative films were being made outside the BFDC.
I felt ‘Ice Cream’ was a good film and Redoan Rony was a good director. I was young, and that was enough for me to think I could do it. I understood so much more after making ‘Ice Cream’.
It amazes me to think about how I made that film and how 10 years have already passed.” Sariful Razz also looked back on the film’s role in shaping his career.
