Jung Do-cheon, chief executive of the design firm Infocreative, used to sigh while sorting through the documents filling the company's shelves. Why, the CEO wondered, did organizing paperwork always involve so much hassle? That question turned the company from a design services contractor into a developer of idea products for the office.
In an interview with The Seoul Economic Daily on the 18th, Jung said the company developed a new document box after asking whether changing the design of a binder alone could cut the time and effort spent on filing. Tray Storage, which Infocreative introduced in 2021, is a document box designed to fix the inconveniences of conventional binders. It uses a tray structure with handles so that original paper documents can be slid in and out easily.
The company also developed an app that lets users review information on the contents of a box without opening it. With a near-field communication (NFC) sticker attached, holding a smartphone near the box brings up detailed document information in the linked app. Jung said a range of public agencies and companies, including the Agency for Defense Development and Chong Kun Dang, now use Tray Storage after recognizing its convenience.

In August, Infocreative launched a new artificial intelligence service called Tray Storage Connect, which lets customers who bought Tray Storage search documents and find related information through an AI chatbot. Jung said separate features for corporate clients are also in development and that the AI service is being reinforced through monthly updates. Infocreative used Cafe24's services to set up a product sales website and a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for document management.
Having found a new business opportunity in an everyday inconvenience, Jung is now looking for Infocreative's next avenue of growth. The plan is to expand beyond document management into information technology services that help companies manage their data and assets efficiently. At the same time, the CEO vowed not to lose a designer's sensibility. "I hope Infocreative is remembered as a company that solves information problems well while also delivering creative design," Jung said.
