Bermuda’s athletes made an outstanding showing at the aquathlon events on the opening day of the 2026 Carifta Triathlon, Aquathlon and Mixed Team Relay Championships at Clearwater Beach, winning multiple medals.
Colette Durkin led a Bermuda sweep of the girls’ 13–14 podium, winning gold ahead of Elena Bortoli, who took silver, and Evelyn Fahy, who claimed bronze.
Ethan Smith won gold in the boys’ 13–14 division, with Bermuda teammate Spencer Haldeman finishing second.
Eva Desjardins secured Bermuda’s third gold medal, with Madeleine Friend taking silver in the same race.
Rory Shepherd earned silver in the boys’ 15–16 event, while Riana Robinson claimed bronze in the girls’ race of the same age group.
Oliver Hayward won bronze in the boys’ 16–21 division, with Carina Bortoli also finishing third in the girls’ event.
