Jacksonville State football is idle this week as the Gamecocks get their first real off week of the season.
The Gamecocks were idle on Oct. 3, but that was not a full idle week as the Conference USA midweek stretch started with the Gamecocks traveling to Kennesaw State on Oct. 7. That ended up being a 27-26 win over the Owls that the Gamecocks followed up with a 27-24 win over FIU to help take control of the Conference USA race again.
The Gamecocks are the only 3-0 team in the conference, while Liberty is 2-0. The Gamecocks will return to play on Oct. 28 on the road against New Mexico State. That game airs on ESPN2, kicking off at 7 p.m. CT.
