Traffic is extremely heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo and Lesovo border checkpoints for outbound trucks heading to Türkiye, the Border Police reported.
Kilometre-long queues of trucks waiting in a single lane are causing difficulties for passenger cars, and drivers are advised to exercise extra caution. Traffic is normal at all other border crossing points between Bulgaria and Greece, North Macedonia, Serbia and Romania.
Due to the installation of drainage facilities on the Danube Bridge at Ruse, sections of the right and left lanes will be closed to traffic intermittently until 26 October. Vehicles will be allowed to pass through the open lane at 20-minute intervals. Construction work will not take place on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.
Three people have died and 29 have been injured in 27 serious road accidents across the country over the past 24 hours, the Traffic Police reported.
