- Tailored strategies for every organisation
- From technical migration to the "Clean Core" concept
- Two corporate experiences with distinct approaches
Upgrading corporate management systems to cloud environments goes far beyond a simple technical platform change. This process requires precise definition of which company areas need to evolve, which operational processes should be standardised, and how data must be prepared to move forward without jeopardising business continuity.
This perspective was examined by Indra Group alongside SAP and various user firms at the "Evolucionando Juntos" meeting, held in Mexico to explore how corporations transition towards smarter and more automated operational models.
Tailored strategies for every organisation
In its role as a SAP Global Service Partner, Indra Group emphasises that each entity starts from vastly different scenarios and priorities. Whilst a multinational may find itself compelled to deploy a corporate standard across Mexican territory, a different organisation might seek to update a legacy tool that has underpinned its daily operations for years. Likewise, there are companies whose primary objective is to unify processes following an acquisition, enhance data analytics, or lay the technical foundations to adopt artificial intelligence.
"Not all companies start from the same point or share the same priorities. The conversation must no longer focus solely on when to migrate or which technology to choose, but on what each organisation needs to transform," highlighted José Antonio Velázquez Hernández, Director of SAP Services at Indra Group in Mexico. The executive underscored that the technology partner's role consists of structuring a viable roadmap balancing investment, risk, and evolutionary capacity.
From technical migration to the "Clean Core" concept
Undertaking a project of this magnitude makes it compulsory to involve departments beyond usual IT teams, integrating key areas such as finance, operations, and cybersecurity. Furthermore, adopting a cloud model facilitates continuous updates and the progressive integration of analytics and automation tools.
Under this approach, the strategy of maintaining a clean core, or Clean Core, takes centre stage. By keeping the ERP's core as standardised as possible, the accumulation of technical debt is curbed, and the incorporation of future innovations is streamlined without resorting to unnecessary custom developments. Artificial intelligence demands a robust architecture and reliable data, consolidating Cloud ERP as a platform for constant growth rather than a definitive endpoint.
Two corporate experiences with distinct approaches
Practical experiences from different clients illustrate how this evolution materialises according to each business context:
- Mitsui & Co Infrastructure Solutions: The firm, focused on energy and water projects, faces a transformation phase geared towards unifying operations across both business lines. Following an evaluation and selection process, they entrusted Indra Group due to its global strength and proximity of the consulting team. They are currently implementing solutions designed to improve financial control, data governance, and operational visibility.
- Grupo Solid: This paints and coatings multinational replaced its obsolete technology base a decade ago with Indra's assistance. Their ongoing collaboration has endowed them with great operational agility, enabling them to integrate newly acquired companies within months into a shared digital ecosystem, avoiding the need to rebuild technological foundations with each expansion.
To address this diversity of challenges, Indra Group combines the expertise of its local teams in Mexico with an international network backed by over 3,000 professionals specialised in SAP and hundreds of projects executed across dozens of countries.
