Reigning Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele raised fresh injury concerns for Paris Saint-Germain after being substituted around the 20th minute of their UEFA Champions League soccer clash against Barcelona on Tuesday. The French forward appeared to experience hamstring discomfort and asked to come off, forcing head coach Luis Enrique to bring on Ferran Torres.
The early exit is concerning for PSG given Dembele’s injury problems last season. The forward missed several matches with muscle injuries, including a serious hamstring problem that sidelined him for around six weeks in September and October 2025.

Ousmane Dembele’s injury history raises fresh concerns for PSG
Dembele’s latest injury concern follows a difficult first half of the 2025-26 season, when he suffered a serious right hamstring injury while playing for France against Ukraine in September 2025.
The French international also suffered calf injuries during the campaign. He sustained a right calf muscle strain during the club’s final Ligue 1 game of the season against Paris FC.
Those setbacks make his early substitution concerning. PSG will need to assess the forward before determining the severity of the issue and his potential return date.
Losing Dembele to injury could affect PSG’s chances of defending their Champions League title.
