The Green Bay Packers are gearing up for a Week 7 matchup against the division-rival Detroit Lions on Sunday.
When preparing to face off against the Lions, running back Jahmyr Gibbs is at the top of the scouting report.
Gibbs won't be the first dynamic running back the Packers have matched up against this year. In Week 3, Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson absolutely lit up Green Bay with 194 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns in a primetime "Thursday Night Football" contest.
When speaking to reporters on Thursday, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was asked if this early-season matchup against Robinson will help his team prepare for Gibbs in Week 7.
“Sure. What not to do," LaFleur replied bluntly.
Through the first five games of the Lions' 2026 campaign, Gibbs has 504 rushing yards, seven rushing touchdowns, 243 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns — leading the entire NFL in total rushing/receiving scores.
The Packers have won each of their last three games, improving their season record to 4-2. Meanwhile, the 3-2 Lions will look to tighten the division race in a closely-contested NFC North with a win on Sunday.
