For the third time in four years, Buchholz football has won a district title.
The Bobcats defeated Oakleaf 37-22 Friday evening at Citizens Field to improve to 9-0 in 2026. A win over Bolles next week in Jacksonville would give the Cats their first undefeated regular season since 2023.
Knights QB Jaidan Delaune expected to cause trouble for a Bobcats defense that has struggled with running QBs, but DC Chuck Bell’s crew contained him well in the first half.
Buchholz’s offense continued its fine scoring streak in the first half. BHS tallied touchdowns on three of four drives to take a 28-7 lead into the locker room. The other TD occurred on a blocked punt.
The second half saw a slight cooldown of the BHS offense, but the defense locked in to secure the win.
Buchholz, the No. 2 seed in Class 5A-Region 1, kicks off with the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 30.
