An illegal Honduran immigrant allegedly swung at an ICE officer with a hammer after his license plate was clocked in New Jersey, authorities announced Tuesday.
Reinieri De Jesus Licona Amador, 27, of Honduras, was hit with federal charges after he attacked two ICE agents during a traffic stop in Camden County on Oct. 4.

Cops pulled Amador over in Gibbsboro after a license plate check flagged him as undocumented.
When federal agents in full uniform and badges approached his car, Amador allegedly grabbed the hammer from his backseat, climbed onto the passenger door frame, and repeatedly swung at them.

The agents pepper-sprayed Amador to incapacitate him, according to court documents.
Another unidentified Honduran in the United States illegally, who had already been issued a final order of removal by an immigration judge, was a passenger in the car.
When Amador began swinging the weapon, one of the responding agents saw their “life flash” before their eyes.
Another ICE agent said the attack would have caused “serious, and potentially fatal, injuries,” according to court documents.
Amador has been charged with forcibly assaulting officers with a dangerous weapon and processed at the Elizabeth Detention Facility.
The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately reply to The Post’s request for comment.
