Jake Johnson, PC: Wikipedia
Actor Jake Johnson, best known for playing Nick Miller on New Girl and co-hosting the comedy podcast We’re Here to Help, has listed a Pasadena, California, home for $3.295 million. The contemporary-style residence has 3,153 square feet of living space, 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, and sits behind private gates on a lot of nearly half an acre, according to published reports.
Its features include a swimming pool, landscaped grounds, 2 detached structures and a sunroom with a sauna. Thomas Atamian of Coldwell Banker Realty is handling the listing. The home was built in 1947 and remodelled in 2004 by architect Aleks Istanbullu, according to the listing details reported by the media.
Jake Johnson’s Pasadena home listing: what $3.295 million buys
The home combines a contemporary interior with extensive outdoor space. Reports describing the listing mention hardwood floors, wood accents, large windows and open living and dining areas that look out towards the grounds.
The property sits behind private gates, with mature landscaping helping to screen it from the street. The grounds include a swimming pool, outdoor areas for relaxing and dining, and a garden featuring California native plants and fruit trees, according to published descriptions.
Listing agent Thomas Atamian has emphasised the property’s privacy and the flexibility offered by its additional structures. The asking price is $3.295 million, although some media reports round it to $3.3 million or $3.29 million.
These are rounded versions of the same asking price, rather than evidence of separate listings. The property’s appeal rests on its combination of indoor living space, outdoor grounds and additional buildings.
Sunroom sauna and spa-inspired bathroom: inside the primary suite
The primary suite includes a vaulted ceiling, a fireplace and a walk-in closet. The adjoining bathroom features Italian blue glass mosaic tile around a soaking tub and a separate shower, according to descriptions of the listing.
A sunroom equipped with a sauna is another feature of the property. The sunroom and sauna are part of the home’s wellness-focused amenities, but descriptions of the layout should be read carefully because reports do not always distinguish clearly between the sunroom and the detached wellness structure.
The listing photographs, credited to Hillary Campbell and supplied by Coldwell Banker, show the primary suite, bathroom, sunroom and other interior spaces. The house has also served as a place for Johnson’s creative work. The Pasadena Star-News reported that the walk-in closet had previously been used as a creative space for his comedy podcast, We’re Here to Help. The detail offers a glimpse of how the property has been used beyond its role as a residence.
Two detached structures and a creative past
The 2 detached structures add flexible space beyond the main house. According to the listing description quoted in media reports, they can accommodate uses such as working from home, creative projects and wellness activities.
Their layout and previous uses are more specific than the general description of two additional studios might suggest. In a 2023 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Johnson described using one of the structures as a creative escape for his projects and another as a wellness space with an adjoining sunroom.
That account provides context for the buildings’ previous uses, although it should not be taken as confirmation of their permitted uses or current configuration. The listing identifies the property as a contemporary architectural residence remodelled by Aleks Istanbullu in 2004. Public-record reporting has also raised a distinction between the listing’s association with Johnson and the name on the property title. The property has been reported as held by the Poppy Lou Trust, which acquired it for $2.215 million in April 2017. That purchase price is a historical figure, not the current asking price, and the trust’s ownership should not be presented as proof that Johnson personally holds title.
The current listing brings together a gated setting, landscaped grounds, a pool, a sauna-equipped sunroom and two detached structures. Its asking price is $3.295 million, but the property’s eventual sale price, if sold, may differ from that figure.
