Russia and Ukraine conducted another exchange of fallen soldiers’ bodies, the Russian business news outlet RBC and BelTA reported.
The exchange took place at the Novaya Guta checkpoint in Belarus, where Russia returned 252 bodies to Ukraine and Ukraine handed over 25 fallen soldiers’ bodies to Russia.
Ukraine’s Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War confirmed the exchange.
It was the first such exchange in more than a month. The two sides last swapped bodies of fallen soldiers on September 17, when Russia handed over 252 and Ukraine handed over 23.
The two sides last exchanged prisoners of war in August, when 10 POWs returned to Russia and Russia handed over to Ukraine 10 civilians who had been detained in Belarus for legal violations.
