With the Baltimore Ravens taking on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7, all eyes are on Lamar Jackson to see if he will play, as he has been dealing with an ankle injury. Though Jackson said he was heading in the right direction for a Ravens return, the team has officially announced his status for the contest, and it’s one that fans won’t want to hear.
According to the team on their social media accounts, Jackson’s status has been changed to “out” for the matchup against the Bengals, as he was downgraded from “questionable.”
“QB Lamar Jackson (ankle) has been downgraded to ‘out’ for tomorrow’s game vs. Cincinnati,” the team announced on X, formerly Twitter.

Jackson has missed the last two games with a high ankle sprain, and he’ll now miss a third consecutive contest with the injury after he suffered it in the 24-18 win over the Tennessee Titans on Oct. 4. There was some hope for a return after Jackson’s comments to the media on Friday that he was “heading in the right direction,” though he said he “can’t call it right now” if he would play.
“I can’t call it right now, you know, still got a grace period, so we’ll see. Hopefully. But I feel like I’m heading in the right direction,” Jackson said, according to Jamison Henley of ESPN.

Ravens’ Lamar Jackson on his “pain tolerance”
So far this season with the Ravens, Jackson has thrown for 967 yards with six touchdowns and an interception to go along with 144 yards and a score on the ground. Jackson said Friday that the one aspect that would decide if he would play is the “pain tolerance.”
“Just trying to move how I move. If I can’t do that, I can’t help my team; I can’t put my team in a situation to win. I feel like I’m doing a disservice, if anything,” Jackson said to the media, according to the team posting on X, formerly Twitter.
