Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua left Thursday’s practice early with a calf injury, potentially thinning the Rams’ wide receiver options even further.
Nacua’s most recent injury is separate from the hip and groin injuries which kept him out of Weeks 2 and 3 against the Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles.
The Rams entered the season with an uninspiring wide receiver room behind Nacua and fellow star Davante Adams, and injuries exposed those weaknesses over the past week. Adams is set to miss six to 10 weeks following a ruptured hamstring leaving Nacua as the team’s sole star pass catcher.
With his presence on the offense for Sunday’s game now in doubt, the Rams have a big problem to overcome by the end of the week.
Nacua has been the Rams’ best offensive player over the past several years, and is continuing that trend this season. He has 37 receptions through four games this season, recording 417 yards for an average of 104.3 per game. He is coming off of a career year in the 2025 season, during which he led the league in receptions with 129 and yards per game with 107.2.
If Nacua misses time, the Rams will look towards Konata Mumpfield and Jordan Whittington to handle the load in the air in Sunday’s game.
Who Else Is Injured For the Rams?
The Rams are missing key players outside of their receivers, though, with several players to miss the next several weeks.
On the defensive side of the ball, Poona Ford and Kobie Turner are set to miss extended amounts of time, with the former set to miss the whole season after rupturing his triceps.
Eddie Walls III, Daniel Rickert and Myles Garrett are also on injured reserve, and newly signed kicker Blake Grupe tore his ACL while attempting a tackle on Sunday—though the Rams have already replaced him with veteran Brandon McManus.
With so many players out injured, the Rams have a difficult road ahead, especially if they’re to make the playoffs this year. They currently sit last in the NFC West with a 2-4 record, and need to rebound in their key matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday at 1:25 p.m. PT.
