Tiruchi City Police hold meeting with banks on stepping up security measures

The Tiruchi City Police have advised the branch managers of banks functioning here to ensure that the burglar alarm systems functioned properly and examine them every day. They have also advised the banks to install high resolution surveillance cameras inside the branches and at the ATM centres, besides installing Automated Number Plate Recognition cameras outside the banks.

These and a few other points were put forth during a meeting the Tiruchi City Police had with officials of various banks functioning here.

Presided over by the Commissioner of Police, Tiruchi, N. Kamini, the meeting held at the City Police Office on Thursday was organised to step up safety and security measures in banks.

During the meeting, the banks were advised to deploy a watchman during night in every branch and at ATMs. The bankers were requested to create awareness among the general public and senior citizens of cyber crimes, a police press release said.
