It’s tiiiiiiiimmmeee! Get ready for a season of magical performances across Dubai
We know, we know. Halloween isn’t even here but… here we are, planning out our December with Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas playing (ever so softly) from our laptops. If you’re already dreaming of festive performances, Dubai has plenty to look forward to this Christmas. So, before your calendar fills up, make a note of these dates.
Here are all the magical Christmas performances in Dubai that we know of so far.
My First Ballet: The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker
When: November 22
Where: Meyana Theatre, Jumeirah Beach Hotel
It may be in November, but this production will help set off those festive feels if you are falling behind. It showcases the most memorable scenes from The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker through the art of classical ballet. It all comes together with classical choreography, beautiful costumes, timeless music and visual storytelling. Take the whole family as the show is open to children above the age of three. Mission Elf-Possible
When: December 5, 6 and 12
When: Theatre by QE2, QE2
Mission Elf-Possible is returning to the QE2 this December. Santa’s ‘nice list’ has gone missing, throwing the festive season in jeopardy. It’s up to the elves to save the day, with Holly and Pepper Elf racing against time to track down the list before it’s too late. Ticket prices from Dhs63.75.

Cinderella
When: December 4 to 24
When: New Covent Garden Theatre, Mall of the Emirates, Level 2
We know what you’re thinking. Cinderella is not a Christmas story. However, this production at New Covent Garden Theatre and Patter Productions presents the classic tale in pantomime style, packed with laughs, music, and a sprinkle of Christmas magic. Join in and watch as Cinderella dreams of a better life and meets her Prince Charming.

Magic Phil’s Croc ‘N’ Roll Christmas
When: December 11 to 13
When: Meyana Theatre, Jumeirah Beach Hotel
If you have little ones and have been out and about in Dubai, you have definitely heard of Magic Phil and maybe even seen him perform. He is quite popular with the little ones, and this festive season, he is putting together a one-man show and of course, in true Magic Phil style, it’s full of Christmas chaos. His show brings together silliness, magic, catchy songs and plenty of laughs. The plot? Magic Phil is about to enjoy a festive Christmas cruise when he loses his ticket. He attempts to sneak on board but things go horribly and… hilariously wrong when he ends up aboard a pirate ship instead. A Christmas Carol
When: December 17 to 24
Where: Theatre by QE2, QE2
If this isn’t a part of your festive tradition, this is a sign it should be. Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is coming to life at Theatre by QE2 adding a heartwarming touch to your December. It follows the tale of a miserable Ebenezer Scrooge who discovers the true meaning of the festive season after a visit from three spirits. Expect plenty of laughter and Christmas magic.
