Rallycross Race Weekend in Nairobi on 14 and 15 November

KENYA · NAIROBI MOTORSPORT

Nairobi hosts a two-day rallycross race weekend at Kasarani in November. A weekend pass costs about US$3.85.

RX Fest Round 3 is a rallycross race weekend in Nairobi on Saturday, 14 November, and Sunday, 15 November 2026. It takes place at the Kasarani Safari Rally Ground, and a weekend pass costs about US$3.85.

Rallycross is short, head-to-head racing on a closed circuit rather than a race against the clock. For US visitors, Saturday’s 7:00 a.m. listing start in Nairobi is 11:00 p.m. Eastern on Friday, 13 November.

What RX Fest Round 3 Is

RX Motorsport Kenya Management Ltd is the host named on the Ticketsasa listing for RX Fest Round 3. The Nairobi Events Guide, a local listings site, names the same company as organiser.

Ticketsasa calls it the ultimate celebration of rallycross, with head-to-head battles, meeting drivers and family-friendly activities. The Nairobi Events Guide adds DJs, food, drinks, a children’s play area, free entry under 12 and parental guidance.

Capital FM called the Kasarani track the WRC SSS racetrack in 2023. Kenya’s Safari Rally, a World Rally Championship round, is listed for Naivasha on Thursday, 18 March 2027.

An earlier RX 3 meeting ran at Kasarani on 18 and 19 November 2023, Capital FM reported. More than 30 drivers entered, in classes called RX Cubs, RX 2WD, RX Open and RX Team.

That 2023 entry list included Leroy Gomes, a former African rally champion from Zambia, according to Capital FM. No 2026 entry list, class list or driver names could be found for this article.

Dates, Times and the US Clock

Ticketsasa lists the event from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, 14 November, to 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, 15 November, Kenya time. The Nairobi Events Guide shows the same dates and the same 7:00 a.m. Saturday start.

Kenya keeps East Africa Time, three hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time, all year. After US clocks fall back on Sunday, 1 November, Kenya is eight hours ahead of US Eastern time.

• Saturday listing start: 7:00 a.m. in Nairobi is 11:00 p.m. Eastern on Friday, 13 November.
• Sunday listing end: 10:00 p.m. in Nairobi is 2:00 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, 15 November.

Neither listing publishes gate times, a race schedule or a Sunday start time. Treat 7:00 a.m. as the listing start, not as proof that racing begins then.

At the 2023 round, the paddock opened at 7:00 a.m. and the first heats started at 10:30 a.m., The Star reported. That was a different year, so use it only as a rough guide to the rhythm of a race day.

Tickets and Costs

Ticketsasa is the official seller named on the listing, and it offers one ticket type, the Weekend Pass. The pass costs KES 500 (about US$3.85) and is valid until 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, 15 November.

Prices are converted at KES 129.85 per US$1, the open.er-api.com rate of 24 October 2026. Ticketsasa describes itself as a product of Pesapal Limited.

The Nairobi Events Guide says children under 12 enter free, while the Ticketsasa page shows no child ticket. Ask the organiser, or check at the gate, before you bring a family.

On 24 October the Ticketsasa page showed no early-bird, VIP or gate price for this event. It also stated no refund policy, parking fee or per-buyer ticket limit.

The listing gives no hospitality or VIP package for the Weekend Pass. Budget separately for food, drinks and the ride to and from the venue, since the listing prices none of them.

The Venue and Getting There

Ticketsasa gives the venue as the Kasarani Safari Rally Ground, Nairobi, while the Nairobi Events Guide says Kasarani Sports Centre. They appear to describe the same Kasarani sports complex, but the organiser has not published a street address or gate.

This article has not verified road, minibus or ride-hailing times to Kasarani. Ask your hotel to book a car for the return trip, especially after dark.

News reports on the Level 3 advisory name Eastleigh and Kibera as the Nairobi areas on its Do Not Travel list. Kasarani is not named in those reports, but check the advisory map yourself.

More Kenyan Motorsport This Season

The Nairobi Events Guide lists other car events around RX Fest, though it gives no ticket prices for most of them. Ticketsasa lists prices for two of them, in Kenyan shillings.

• Time Attack, The Last Lap: Sunday, 8 November, Machakos Peoples Park, with advance tickets at KES 1,000 (about US$7.70) on Ticketsasa.
• Nairobi Drift Box: Saturday, 14 November, Nyayo National Stadium, with an early bird at KES 650 (about US$5.01) until 25 October, advance at KES 1,200 (about US$9.24) and gate at KES 1,700 (about US$13.09).
• Sunset Corsa Rolling and Drag Race: Saturday, 21 November, venue not listed.
• Tunerfest Motorshow: Sunday, 29 November, venue not listed.
• Sleek Motorsports Drags: Saturday, 5 December, ICD Road.
• Mud4Fun 4×4 Challenge: Friday, 11 December, Naivasha.

Nairobi Drift Box falls on the same Saturday as RX Fest, so you would have to choose one or split the day. The two venues are different, and this article has not checked the travel time between them.

Tips for US and Foreign Visitors

US citizens need an electronic travel authorisation before entering Kenya, applied for at etakenya.go.ke. The official portal says standard processing starts at US$30 and is generally handled within three business days.

Expedited processing costs an extra US$100 and is handled immediately, the portal says. It also requires a passport valid for six months, with at least one blank page.

Citizen Digital and Africanews report that the State Department raised Kenya to Level 3, Reconsider Travel, on Monday, 19 October 2026. The move from Level 2 cites health risks including Ebola, plus crime, kidnapping, terrorism, unrest and road safety.

Kenya has confirmed nine cases of Bundibugyo Ebola, including the first patient, who died, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday, 20 October. Dr. Patrick Amoth said all nine belong to one known cluster.

Dr. Amoth also said Kenya remains open, with no restrictions on travel, trade or public gatherings. That could change, so check the Ministry of Health and the CDC before you fly and again before race day.

The advisory says facilities often lack medicine and equipment, and that health issues may need evacuation at your own expense. Confirm your insurance covers evacuation, and read the Rio Times guide to Kenya’s visitor insurance rule.

Demonstrations and strikes have turned violent in Kenya, most often in Nairobi and western Kenya, the advisory says. Check local news on the morning of the race, and leave the area if a protest starts nearby.

The listing does not say how food and drink vendors take payment, so carry some Kenyan shillings in cash. Rallycross engines are loud, so bring ear protection for children, plus water and sun protection for a day outdoors.

What It Means for You

For a US traveller in Nairobi, this is a motorsport day out at about US$3.85, if you accept the Level 3 advisory. If you are still planning a trip, keep flights and rooms refundable until the Ebola picture is clearer.

Expats in Nairobi can treat it as an inexpensive family outing, since the listing text offers free entry to children under 12. Bring a government photo ID, because the organiser has not published entry rules.

What Is Not Known

The organiser has not published a race schedule, gate times, an entry list or the names of any 2026 drivers. The listing also gives no Sunday start time.

The Ticketsasa page shows no refund terms or child ticket, and it gave no street address. The Nairobi Events Guide names the venue as Kasarani Sports Centre, while Ticketsasa says Kasarani Safari Rally Ground.

The organiser’s own website and social pages could not be read by automated tools on 24 October. The date, venue and ticket price rest on the Ticketsasa listing and on the Nairobi Events Guide, which repeats the organiser’s text.

The State Department advisory could not be read on 24 October, so Level 3 details come from Citizen Digital, Africanews and CBS. The Ebola count comes from the Health Ministry statement as reported by Citizen Digital.

This article could not confirm what the first two rounds of the 2026 series were, or where they ran. The organiser has not said how many rounds remain after this one.

What Comes Next

Watch the Ticketsasa page and the organiser’s social channels for a schedule and entry list before Saturday, 14 November. Ticketsasa shows sales open until 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, 15 November.

Kenya’s Ebola response will also shape the weekend, because quarantined contacts from 6 October finish 21-day monitoring from Sunday, 25 October. Dr. Amoth said all the surviving patients are improving.
