Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Copperbelt Referees Chairman Prince Evans Malata has resigned from his position with immediate effect.
In a letter to the FAZ Copperbelt General Secretary, Malata said his decision is based on personal commitments and his desire to dedicate more time to his business.
“I hereby formally tender my resignation from the position of Chairman of Referees for Copperbelt Province, effective from the date of this letter,” Malata said.
He thanked FAZ for the confidence demonstrated in appointing him and appreciated the cooperation and support he received from referees and colleagues during his tenure.
Malata said he is committed to ensuring a smooth handover and will provide necessary assistance to facilitate a seamless transition.
He emphasized that his resignation does not mean closing doors to future engagement and he remains open to sharing ideas and collaborating on future endeavours that contribute to the development of refereeing and football in general.
Malata is a retired referee.
He has insisted that he remains available to duties as match commissioner.
