Kelechi Iheanacho has really found his shooting boots since leaving Celtic. The 30-year-old decided to switch Paradise for Turkey and second division Bursaspor, who reportedly put together a sizeable package for the attacker.
This deal has worked out for Iheanacho and has new club as he netted his 11th consecutive goal this evening.
Iheanacho arrived at Celtic in September 2025, reuniting with Brendan Rodgers after previously working under the Irishman at Leicester City.
The Nigerian international began his professional career at Manchester City, winning the League Cup before completing a £25 million move to Leicester in 2017. During seven seasons with the Foxes, Iheanacho established himself as a Premier League forward and helped the club win the FA Cup in 2021.
Following an unsuccessful spell at Sevilla and a loan move to Middlesbrough, Iheanacho joined Celtic on a free transfer.
His time at Celtic was disrupted by recurring hamstring injuries, restricting his involvement despite an encouraging start. However, he delivered several important contributions, including two goals against St Mirren in the Scottish Cup semi-final and a dramatic stoppage-time penalty against Motherwell.
Iheanacho departed Celtic in July 2026, having scored nine goals in 24 appearances. His help in the final stretch of the season was invaluable with some big goals scored. The Nigerian forward blocked Cammy Devlin’s late thump forward to allow Callum McGregor to assist Callum Osmand on that glorious day back in May.
