Banabus Ssenabulya has urged Buganda Kingdom subjects in Ssaabagabo to set aside political differences, maintain unity and work together to improve community livelihoods.
The Kabaka’s representative in Ssaabagabo Ssekanyonyi Sub-county, Banabus Ssenabulya, has urged residents to put political differences aside and focus on community development following the conclusion of village elections.
Ssenabulya made the remarks in Kawaala Village during a ceremony to celebrate Patrick Lubwama’s victory in the village chairperson elections. He called on subjects of the Buganda Kingdom in the area to embrace unity and work together on initiatives aimed at improving their livelihoods.
He said residents should recognise that the election period had ended and redirect their energy towards social and economic development rather than allowing political disagreements to strain relationships within the community.
“Politics should not divide us after elections. Our people should now concentrate on development initiatives that benefit their families and the entire community,” Ssenabulya said.
He urged residents to cooperate with their local leaders and participate in programmes designed to improve living conditions, while maintaining peace and taking collective responsibility for the progress of their communities.
The ceremony also gave Lubwama an opportunity to thank residents for electing him to lead Kawaala Village.
Lubwama expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him and called on residents to work with him as he begins his leadership responsibilities.
“I thank the residents of Kawaala for trusting me with the responsibility of leading them. I appeal to everyone to work with me so that we can address our community’s challenges and achieve meaningful development,” Lubwama said.
He urged residents to support efforts to improve local services and promote the welfare of the village, regardless of their political affiliations.
Ssenabulya reiterated that community development requires cooperation between leaders and residents, encouraging people to support constructive initiatives that promote unity and sustainable progress.
