Morocco’s women’s national team will face Venezuela and France in two international friendly matches in December as the Atlas Lionesses intensify preparations for their 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign and the 2028 Olympic qualifiers against Nigeria’s Super Falcons.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced the fixtures on Wednesday, confirming that Morocco will take on Venezuela on December 1 before facing France four days later.
The two matches will provide Morocco with valuable opportunities to assess their squad and improve their tactical organisation ahead of next year’s major international competitions.
Morocco are scheduled to face France at the Stade Auguste-Bonal in Sochaux on December 5, with kick-off set for 9:10 p.m. local time.
However, the venue and kick-off time for the December 1 encounter against Venezuela have yet to be announced by the Moroccan federation.
The friendlies form part of Morocco’s preparations for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted by Brazil from June 24 to July 25, 2027 and the two legged Olympic Games qualifier against Super Falcons.
The North African side will also use the matches to prepare for their 2028 Olympic qualifying campaign, with their encounter against the Super Falcons expected in March 2027.
The December fixtures will offer Morocco’s newly appointed head coach, Eric Blahic, an opportunity to evaluate his players against opponents with different playing styles.
The encounter against Venezuela will provide a test against South American opposition, while the match against France will offer a stern examination against one of Europe’s established women’s football teams.
