The Palace on Wednesday thumbed down Vice President Sara Duterte’s claim that the government had a strategy to take her down.
Duterte earlier claimed that there was an attempt from the government to frame her issues as a matter of national security.
Bakit nakakatawa? Pinag-uusapan dito ang patungkol sa may bandang dulo ay start working and stop politicking,” Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said in a media briefing.
(While I was reading it earlier, I was wholly laughing. It is funny because what she is saying here in her statement dated October 20, 2026 is ironic. Why is it laughable? She said here at the end to start working and stop politicking.)
(Even if we are in the middle of the crisis in the Middle East, there are a lot of calamities in front of us and now where is the El Niño. The President is there, not just to hold the responsible to account, to try hard, to work, to implement the law to hold people into account—including those betraying the country.)
It was Duterte who has had several personal foreign trips, Castro said.
The Palace exec urged the public not to be distracted. While the Palace will not intervene with Duterte’s ongoing impeachment trial at the Senate, she maintained that the prosecution has presented a lot of evidence. — BM, GMA News
