The citation was issued at 5:34 a.m., according to the records. Stewart was booked into the Springfield Municipal jail around 7 a.m. and released approximately one hour later, KATU reported.
A Springfield police officer pulled Stewart over at around 5 a.m. on Oct. 18 and began a DUI investigation because they suspected driver impairment, Springfield police said in a press release. The officer “developed probable cause” to arrest the football player and he was taken to jail.
Stewart was released to his Ducks teammate, fellow wide receiver Dakorien Moore, around 8 a.m. on Sunday, USA Today reported.
KATU was first to report the news of Stewart’s DUII.
PEOPLE has contacted the University of Oregon for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
“We are aware of the incident and are gathering information at this time,” a spokesperson for the university’s football program told KATU.
The Oregon Ducks will next face the Illinois Fighting Irish on the road on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 3 p.m. ET.
