It has been a busy and very positive few weeks for Cadela Carlota, with a series of events giving us the opportunity to meet people, raise funds and, just as importantly, tell more people about the work of the association.
The programme of events at the Armazém Regimental, in the historic Praça Infante Dom Henrique in the heart of Lagos, has been particularly well attended. It has been a real privilege for us to have a presence in such a central location and to be able to speak directly with local residents and visitors about the work we do and the challenges involved in caring for so many animals.

We have sold a great deal of Cadela Carlota merchandise during the events, helping to raise much-needed funds for the shelter, while our volunteers have also been able to provide information about the association, our animals and the different ways people can support us.
A big thank you goes to everyone who has helped make these events possible, whether by volunteering, visiting, buying merchandise or simply stopping to find out more about our work.
Our thanks also go to everyone who helped at the recent AFPOP Expo. Once again, it was an excellent opportunity to showcase the work of Cadela Carlota to a wider audience and explain more about the animals in our care and how people can get involved.
And the fundraising continues
Friends of the shelter, the band Nightshift, will be performing a special evening of live music on Friday, October 23 at the Centro Social de Almádena, with proceeds from the event going to Cadela Carlota.
Entry is €5 per person, with all proceeds going towards supporting the shelter. Doors and the bar will open at 7.30pm, with music starting at 8.30pm. The band will play until approximately 11.30pm.

There will also be a raffle during the evening, as well as Cadela Carlota merchandise available to buy. Volunteers will be present to provide information about the association and answer questions about our work and the animals currently looking for homes.
Events such as this are an important part of our fundraising, but they also give us the chance to meet people who may not yet know about Cadela Carlota. Every conversation helps us reach a little further and build greater awareness of the work being carried out by our volunteers every day.
We hope to see plenty of familiar faces, as well as some new ones, at the Centro Social de Almádena on October 23 for what promises to be a great evening of music and support for the shelter.
