Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Conrad Sackey, has warned the public against a fake Facebook page using his name and photograph to publish content, including claims about the 2026 WASSCE results.
Sackey said the page, operating under the name “Conrad sackey _ minister of basic and senior secondary Education,” was not managed by him, his office or the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education.
In a public notice, the minister specifically disowned a recent post on the page purporting to explain the status of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results, stressing that the information did not originate from him and should not be relied upon.
He reiterated that official updates on the examination results would be communicated only through the Ministry and the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
The minister urged parents, pupils, teachers and the wider public not to follow, engage with or share content from the disputed page. He also cautioned against sending money, personal information or requests for favours to individuals claiming to represent him through the account.
Sackey identified his official Facebook page as Conrad Sackey’s Official Page and called on the public to report the fake account to Facebook by selecting “Report Page” and choosing “Pretending to be someone.”
The warning comes as pupils, parents and teachers await the release of the 2026 WASSCE results, with the minister urging the public to rely on verified sources for accurate information.
