University of Houston nose guard De'Marion Thomas will miss his second straight game when the No. 14 Cougars play at No. 10 Utah on Saturday.
Thomas, who is dealing with an apparent foot injury, was listed as out on the Big 12's player availability report released Wednesday night.
Linebacker Jaden Yates, who has missed most of the past three games with an apparent leg injury, was not listed on the report. Coach Willie Fritz said Monday that Yates was expected to need one more week before returning. His status for Saturday was unclear.
Defensive back JD Rhym, wide receiver Tyson Turner, defensive lineman Ejiro Egodogbare and offensive lineman Hayden Wright were listed as probable.
Myles Parker and Quindario Lee are expected to fill-in for Thomas.
Utah starting left guard Kelvin Obot and linebacker Preston Pitts were ruled out.
