Kim Kardashian has taken her support for daughter North West’s fashion choices to a whole new level, transforming herself into the 13-year-old for Halloween.
The reality television star left fans doing a double take after unveiling her costume on Instagram on Tuesday, October 20, recreating North’s signature blue hair, gothic-inspired look and bold accessories.
In a series of photographs and videos captioned “Halloween 2026”, Kardashian showed off a dramatic makeover that mirrored her eldest daughter’s increasingly recognisable personal style.
The 45-year-old wore a long turquoise-blue wig, dramatic eyelashes, faux facial piercings, black grills and intricately decorated nails.
She completed the look with a black graphic T-shirt layered over a black-and-white striped long-sleeved top, a pleated skirt, chunky sneakers and statement jewellery, including a skull-and-crossbones necklace.
Kardashian even copied North’s poses, including one in which she covers part of her face with her hand.
The transformation was so convincing that some social media users initially mistook the mother for her daughter.
"Twins!" Khloé Kardashian reacts
The costume quickly caught the attention of Kardashian’s famous family, with her sister Khloé Kardashian reacting to the uncanny resemblance.
“Twins!!!!!!” Khloé commented on the Instagram post, while fans also praised Kim for committing to the look.
A mother-daughter fashion statement
Beyond the Halloween fun, Kardashian’s costume comes amid ongoing conversations about North’s alternative fashion choices, which have attracted both criticism and support online.
North has become known for experimenting with blue hair, grills, faux piercings and gothic-inspired outfits, with some social media users questioning whether the look is appropriate for her age.
Earlier this month, North pushed back against online comments describing her appearance as “demonic” during a TikTok livestream with her mother.
“Just because I like to dress this way, don’t judge a book by its cover,” she said.
Kim also weighed in during the livestream, suggesting that people make assumptions about her daughter because of her black grills and piercings. North clarified that her facial piercings are not real, while Kim has previously explained that she sets boundaries around what her daughter is allowed to do.
The mother of four has also spoken about allowing North to express herself through fashion, despite the criticism that comes with raising a child in the public eye.
In January, during a conversation with her sister on the Khloé in Wonder Land podcast, Kim pushed back against the perception that she lets North get away with everything.
She explained that her daughter has plenty of rules, but personal style is one area where she allows her to experiment and develop her own identity.
By stepping into North’s look for Halloween, Kim has given fans a playful glimpse into that mother-daughter dynamic — and perhaps the clearest indication yet that she is comfortable with her daughter doing things her own way.
