Speculation over what will happen next on Celebrity Traitors is rife, and one banished star has added their two pence.
Actress Julie Hesmondhalgh was the latest famous face to have the castle inhabitants turn on her and vote her out as a suspected Traitor – only to be left heartbroken when she revealed she was, in fact, a Faithful.
At the end of Friday’s episode, four Faithfuls were summoned for a possible face-to-face murder – Ross Kemp, Romesh Ranganathan, Rob Beckett and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
The three Traitors – Maya Jama, Professor Hannah Fry, and James Acaster – must choose one of the Faithfuls currently hiding in creaky crypts in the woods.
But they don’t know that Leigh-Anne holds a secret shield that could prove to be a game-changer and scupper their plans.
Regardless of what goes down, for now the Little Mix star is safe and sound, and her co-star thinks that she could go a long way yet.
First, she praised the singer for managing to keep her pregnancy secret.
‘You know she was pregnant when we were filming it as well, I couldn’t believe it when I heard that afterwards. I mean I was tired. None of us knew. How she did it I have no idea.”
Clearly her pregnancy subterfuge has convinced Julie that the fellow Faithful might be onto something with he strategy skills.
‘I think Leigh-Anne might go quite a long way actually,’ although she quickly clarified: ‘That’s not inside info, that’s purely off vibes. That’s me as a viewer, I’m here as a fan.’
Considering we’re yet to see much of Leigh-Anne on screen, there’s definitely a case to be made that she’ll be more prominent later down the line.
Beyond best guesses, however, only time will tell how events will pan out, even if there have been several near misses when it comes to spoilers reaching the public.
Several months ago, Richard E. Grant inadvertantly revealed he was a Traitor during a BBC Radio 6 interview with his answer deftly cut out to avoid the cruicial detail getting out.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that the finalists on the show were leaked by a friend of one of this year’s contestants.
Celebrity Traitors airs every Thursday and Friday night at 8pm on BBC One.
