The CinEast Festival of Central and Eastern European Cinema opens in Luxembourg on October 14, with Bulgaria taking centre stage in this year’s programme.
Running until October 25, the festival is part of the events marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Luxembourg, the team at the Bulgarian Embassy in Brussels told the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).
The “Focus on Bulgaria” programme will present seven feature films and two short films, meetings with Bulgarian directors and artists, a Bulgarian evening, two concerts, a photography exhibition and a showcase of Bulgarian cuisine.
One of the highlights is the festival’s Bulgarian Evening, scheduled for October 16 at 7 p.m. local time at the Neimënster cultural centre. The programme includes a screening of the documentary Strandja, attended by its director, Pepa Hristova.
