Google has introduced the Fitbit Edge, a new fitness tracker designed for users who want detailed health monitoring without investing in a full smartwatch. The device is now available for preorder ahead of its official retail launch on October 27, 2026.
Priced at USD 179.99 in the US, the Fitbit Edge combines a larger display, upgraded workout tracking, and personalized health coaching. Google is positioning it between its screenless Fitbit Air and the more feature-rich Pixel Watch.
Fitbit Edge Price and Preorder Details
Customers can preorder the Fitbit Edge through the Google Store and participating retail partners. The standard model costs USD 179.99, while a special edition developed with basketball star Stephen Curry costs USD 219.99.
Google is also including three months of Google Health Premium with the purchase. The subscription provides access to personalized coaching and additional health insights, although continued access requires a paid membership after the trial ends. The tracker is scheduled to reach retail shelves on October 27.
Bigger Display and Longer Battery Life
The Fitbit Edge features a 1.34-inch OLED display. It also includes a physical side button for easier navigation. Google also promised up to seven days of battery life on a single charge, depending on usage and settings. The device also features a replaceable battery, which could help users extend its usable life instead of replacing the entire tracker when battery performance declines.
For outdoor activities, built-in GPS tracks routes without depending entirely on a smartphone. The tracker also supports automatic detection of up to 100 activities, along with heart rate, sleep, and other health measurements.

AI Coaching and Health Features
The Fitbit Edge works with Google's Health app and supports personalized coaching powered by Gemini. The experience helps users understand their activity patterns and receive guidance based on their goals and routines.
Additional features include ECG support in selected markets, blood oxygen monitoring, and skin temperature tracking. Some advanced insights require a Google Health Premium subscription, and availability varies by region. However, the tracker lacks NFC for contactless payments, a notable omission for users used to paying directly from their wrist.
