KUALA LUMPUR: UOB Malaysia and Invest Selangor Bhd have facilitated more than RM3 billion in investments into Selangor.
These include four proposed projects spanning digital infrastructure, life sciences, advanced manufacturing and new energy.
The investments support the state's objectives under Rancangan Selangor Kedua (RS-2) to strengthen industrial competitiveness, attract quality investments and drive sustainable economic growth.
The four companies presented letters of intent (LOIs) at the opening ceremony of the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026 on Oct 14.
They are Galaxy DC Pte Ltd, Shenghui Biotechnology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Wuxi Weifu Environmental Catalysts Co Ltd and XTC New Energy Materials (Xiamen) Co Ltd.
Galaxy DC is an artificial intelligence-focused hyperscale data centre infrastructure developer, while Shenghui Biotechnology plans to establish a large-scale corn deep-processing and specialty ingredients manufacturing facility in Selangor.
The facility is expected to produce starch-based products, sweeteners and other value-added applications.
Wuxi Weifu manufactures automotive and industrial emission-control catalysts, while XTC New Energy Materials specialises in advanced battery materials for the electric vehicle and energy storage value chain.
Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the collaboration would help channel capital towards businesses seeking to expand supply chains and build more resilient operations.
"The challenge today is not the lack of capital, but how capital is channelled," he said.
He said access to financing would help businesses expand their capabilities, create high-value jobs for young people and improve living standards.
UOB Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Ng Wei Wei said the investments reflected the bank's collaboration with Invest Selangor to connect global investors with opportunities across Asean.
She said the projects were expected to generate wider economic benefits through technology transfer, talent development and supply chain opportunities for local businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Invest Selangor chief executive officer Datuk Hasan Azhari said the investments reflected the state's industrial ecosystem, connectivity, talent pool and business-friendly environment.
He said the collaboration would help attract more international investors, deepen local industrial capabilities and strengthen Selangor's position in high-value industries.
The collaboration between UOB Malaysia and Invest Selangor was formalised in November 2025 to attract global investments, facilitate market entry for multinational companies and support the development of future-ready industries in the state.
