Jordyn Palmer has committed to South Carolina women's basketball, giving coach Dawn Staley three five-star recruits and four overall for the Class of 2027 this month.
Palmer, a 6-foot-1 wing/small forward, is No. 7 overall in ESPN's rankings. She announced her decision on Oct. 23, picking the Gamecocks over Penn State, UCLA and Ohio State.
She joins guard GG Banks and center Zaniya Johnson as the other five-stars that are coming to South Carolina next year. Taylor Brown, a four-star guard was Staley's first commit this cycle.
This will be the sixth time Staley has had three five stars in one class, joining her 2014, 2017, 2018, 2021 and 2026 classes.
Palmer goes to Westtown School in West Chester, Pennsylvania. She was the Gatorade Pennsylvania Girls Basketball Player of the Year after averaging 23.2 points, 13.2 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 3.3 steals.
Staley went 3-for-3 when it comes to recruits who took their official visit the weekend of Sept. 19, as Palmer visited along with Brown and Banks. Johnson visited Oct. 3.
South Carolina will lose fifth-year forwards Ashlyn Watkins and Chloe Kitts, both of whom are expected to be high WNBA draft picks. Senior guard Tessa Johnson could return if she opts into the new eligibility model, which grants her a fifth year.
Barring any transfer portal departures, Staley will return forwards Oliviyah Edwards, Kaeli Wynn, Kelsi Andrews, Alicia Tournebize, Adhel Tac and Joyce Edwards plus guards Jerzy Robinson, Justine Loubens, Agot Makeer, Ayla McDowell and Jordan Lee for 2027-28.
This is likely the final commitment for Staley this class. Ashley MacCalla, a five-star 5-foot-10 guard is No. 15 in the class was set to visit Columbia this fall but never posted an exact date. According to 247Sports, she is now announcing Nov. 7 and deciding between Oklahoma, Virginia, Rutgers, Cal and Miami.
Everyone else who was set to visit this fall has visited and committed.
