Dhaka's Detective Branch arrested Masum Khan Rajesh from Rayerbazar on Sunday night; police say he faces multiple extortion allegations.

Dhaka's Detective Branch (DB) has arrested Masum Khan Rajesh, president of the BNP's Ward 34 unit under Mohammadpur Police Station, over multiple allegations of extortion.
He was arrested from the Rayerbazar area of the capital's Mohammadpur on Sunday night (25 October).
Ziauddin Ahmed, deputy commissioner of the DMP's Detective Tejgaon Division, confirmed the arrest, saying Rajesh was detained because of multiple extortion allegations against him.
Rajesh was also reportedly named on a list of alleged extortionists prepared by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police recently.
