After losing to its cross-state rivals last week, Louisiana football is itching to get back on the field in Week 7.
The Ragin’ Cajuns (4-2, 1-1 SBC) return home to face Troy in their third Sun Belt Conference matchup of the season. The task is tall for a Cajun squad that struggled to finish the job against Louisiana Tech, blowing a 19-point lead in the second half.
Fifth-year head coach Michael Desormeaux and his staff will be harping on finishing against the Trojans with quarterback Lunch Winfield leading the charge. For the Trojans (3-2, 1-0), they're looking for a second straight victory after winning a barnburner against Southern Mississippi in Week 6. Leading Troy’s offense is a three-man rushing attack in Gavin Griffin, Jahiem Merriweather and Jordon Lovett.
The Cajuns will look to bounce back against the Trojans and avenge 2025's home loss to them.

Louisiana football vs Troy prediction
The Cajuns will look to strike first in this one and control the pace from there as time of possession will be key against Troy. The Trojans scored every quarter against the Golden Eagles and will want to do the same. UL's big men up front will be key in this matchup on both sides of the ball with both teams looking to rule on the ground. If the Cajuns can bounce back after rushing for 160 yards against Tech and find new life defensively, they should be able to snag their second SBC win of the season. Louisiana 28, Troy 26
