PETALING JAYA: Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly impersonated an aide-de-camp to the Raja Muda of Selangor in deals involving the purchase of houses and vehicles.
Selangor police chief Shazeli Kahar said an investigation had been opened under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property.
“Efforts are under way to track down the suspect,” Shazeli said in a statement.
He said police received a report from the Selangor palace over the misuse of photographs of the Raja Muda of Selangor by a Threads user, “dwan_hamid”.
Earlier, the Selangor palace expressed concern over allegations that a person had impersonated the Raja Muda of Selangor’s personal bodyguard to deceive the public for financial gain.
The palace urged the public to verify with its administration any claims by people purporting to represent or have connections with the royal household before entering into transactions.
