AUBURN — Two years after the Savannah Bananas played their first contest at Plainsman Park, the exhibition barnstorming baseball team based in Savannah, Georgia, announced Thursday, Oct. 15, that it will return to the Plains in February 2027, playing a three-game slate billed "Banana Ball Kickoff" between the homes of Auburn football and baseball.
All six Banana Ball squads — the Coconuts, Clowns, Firefighters, Party Animals, Tailgaters and the Bananas — will play in those three contests, scheduled between Feb. 25-27. First-pitch times and TV information have yet to be announced. Games 1 and 2 will be played at Plainsman Park, but Game 3 will move to Jordan-Hare Stadium, which seats more than 88,000 fans.
The Bananas first came to Auburn in October 2025 with the Banana Ball All-Stars playing the Tigers in a banana-ball-rules contest. Auburn wasn't the Bananas' first college stop, as the Tigers joined a two-program list with Clemson when it played the organization's Banana Ball All-Stars.
