Alex Carey's gloves and Steve Smith's hands have put Australia back on track for a day-five victory over South Africa, with two crucial catches before lunch in Durban.
After the Proteas cast aside any hope of chasing down 421 and got through the first 110 minutes of Tuesday without loss, the hosts slipped to 6-166 at lunch.
Carey first did superbly well to remove Wiaan Mulder (29) down legside off Josh Hazlewood, diving low to his right to end a long resistance between he and Aiden Markram.
Smith then followed it up four balls later with a good take at slip off Matt Renshaw, after a poor Kyle Verreynne shot when the right-hander hung his bat outside off.
The wicket added to Renshaw's coming-of-age week in Durban, where his scores of 190 and 82 set the game up for Australia before he claimed his first Test wicket on Monday.
Australia's fielding has been a feature of this Test, with Smith's three superb catches in the first innings handing him the world record for most by a fielder.
And while this one on Monday was not quite as spectacular, the ball still flew quick to him off Verreynne's bat.
Smith's catch also came after he was cleared of a concussion by Australia's medical staff. He was hit on the helmet while batting on day four and did not field.
Tuesday morning's two wickets left Markram offering a lone resistance on 69no for the hosts, after he helped win the World Test Championship final against Australia last year.
But while the opener's fourth-innings 136 at Lord's last June helped the Proteas to a win, even a draw looked unlikely at Kingsmead Stadium on Tuesday.
Hazlewood was the best of Australia's bowlers on the morning of day five, narrowly missing out on bowling a leaving Markram in the first hour.
He also took the wickets of Ryan Rickelton and David Bedingham on the fourth evening, trapping the latter lbw to end a 66-run partnership with Markram.
For a while the South Africans had looked likely to frustrate Australia, with the shot of the morning coming when Markram produced a cracking back-foot punch off Pat Cummins for four.
