The Philadelphia Eagles are set to face the Carolina Panthers in a crucial Week 6 matchup on Sunday afternoon.
This is an incredibly important game for the Eagles to win, as they are currently on an ugly three-game losing streak. Furthermore, they are trying to pull ahead of the Dallas Cowboys and get closer to the first-place New York Giants in the NFC East.
Unfortunately for the Eagles, they have now gotten some bad news regarding star running back Saquon Barkley ahead of their matchup against the Panthers.
...
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Barkley has officially been ruled out for the Eagles' Week 6 game against the Panthers due to injury.
Barkley being ruled out for Philadelphia's game against the Panthers comes after he missed practice all week. Thus, him being ruled out for the team's Week 6 matchup seemed inevitable.
This will be the second game in a row that Barkley won't be able to play the Eagles. He has not played since exiting Philadelphia's Week 4 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars early after suffering a hamstring injury.
In four games this season, Barkley has recorded 36 carries and 182 rushing yards. This is after he had seven touchdowns, 280 carries, and 1,140 rushing yards in 16 games for the Eagles during this past season.
