Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been transferred from his New Jersey prison to a new one in Pennsylvania, officials and his spokesperson confirmed on Friday, days after he was hospitalized for an alleged head injury.
Combs, 56, was serving out his 50-month sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey when he was rushed to the hospital on Saturday “non-life-threatening injury,” the Los Angeles Times reported. Other reports blamed the injury on an alleged prison fight, an account the Bureau of Prisons denied. Combs returned to the prison later that day — but that return stint was short-lived, as Combs was transferred on Friday to the minimum-security FCI Allenwood Low in Allenwood, Pennsylvania.
“We can confirm that Sean Combs transferred to FCI Allenwood Low on Friday, October 16, 2026,” a Bureau of Prisons spokesperson confirmed on Friday. “For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, including reasons for transfer.”
A spokesperson for Combs said in a statement that the mogul’s team appreciated the bureau “taking the safety and security of Sean and everyone involved seriously.”
“His transfer from one low-security facility to another is an important distinction, and while we cannot speak to the BOP’s specific reasons for the move, it is consistent with a decision made with safety and security in mind,” the spokesperson added. “We are grateful for the attention being given to his well-being and hope he can continue serving his time without unnecessary disruption.”
Combs’ time at Fort Dix was turbulent, particulalry after an NBC News report in late September claimed he has access to contraband cellphones to “scroll Instagram and scan nude and sexually explicit photos that an old girlfriend sends him.” On weekends, he has access to liquor that was smuggled in by guards.
Combs was sanctioned by prison guards after the report came out for “disruptive conduct” and was stripped of 41 days of good-conduct time, delaying his release from January to March 2028.
The musician is currently serving a four-year sentence after he was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution in October 2025. His legal troubles have continued during his incarceration. Just last week, he was ordered to pay NBCUniversal $477,700 in legal fees after losing a $100 million defamation suit over the documentary “Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy.”
