Hundreds of people have backed a call to stop proposals to ban parking in some York roads going ahead.
York Council plans would see double yellow lines painted onto parts of five roads in Osbaldwick and a clearway created in Murton Way.
A council report stated the proposals aimed to tackle obstructive parking and improve visibility at junctions in the village.
But 20 objections have been lodged amid fears over the potential impact on local businesses and the village’s St Thomas’ Church, with a petition launched in opposition garnering 541 signatures.

It comes as the proposals are set to go before a council transport meeting on Thursday (Oct 22) for a decision.
The plans were advertised for public consultation in July after council Labour transport spokesperson Coun Kate Ravilious agreed to progress with them in October last year.
Proposals set for a decision on Thursday would see no waiting at any time restrictions brought in on both sides of the Osbaldwick Link Road.
They would run along almost the whole length of the road, from just after the junction with Murton Way to the entrance to B&Q.
A clearway from just after the junction with Outgang Lane on Murton Way to roughly where the road passes below the A64 would also be introduced.
Those restrictions ban stopping on the roadside at any time, except in an emergency.
Double yellow lines would also be painted in Murton Way at the junction with Beckett Drive and on the westbound side of Osbaldwick Lane at its junction with Osbaldwick Village and Murton Way.
No waiting at any time restrictions would be imposed on the latter two roads opposite the junction to Osbaldwick Lane and on either side of it.
The junction itself would not be subject to the restrictions.
The council’s report on the plans stated it came after Osbaldwick Link Road had suffered from verge and footpath parking, though the issues had recently subsided.
It added vehicles parking close to the junction with Beckett Drive and and Murton Way was obstructing pedestrians from using pavements and crossings there.
Officials also stated the Murton Way clearway would end just before the entrance to Murton village, removing obstructive parking from the 60mph stretch of the road.
Lesser restrictions have also been proposed for the Osbaldwick Lane, Osbaldwick Vilage and Murton Way junction following objections from residents and businesses.
Parking at the junction has caused issues including blocking York-bound First Bus’ Six service, causing unplanned diversions via Osbaldwick Village and resulting in the village playing fields stop being missed.
Officers stated residents had had the chance to share their views on the plans but Thursday’s decision may not satisfy everyone and cause other issues.
The 20 objections lodged against the proposals included concerns over the effect on local businesses and visitors to and services and activities at St Thomas’ Church.
Objectors have also said the measures would remove spaces on Osbaldwick Lane and displace parking elsewhere.
Osbaldwick and Derwent’s Restore Britain ward councillor Mark Warters said the measures would move the problem to other parts of the village.
Coun Warters added an urban clearway banning parking during peak morning an evening times along the Osbaldwick Link Road, Murton Way and Osbaldwick Village was a better solution.
Local business owner Jordan Lamb said in his Change.org petition the restrictions would vital parking needed for residents to go about their daily lives.
The business owner said: “Double yellow lines will restrict parking significantly, creating a ripple effect that could drive away customers who rely on convenient access to our local businesses.
“Adding double yellow lines may seem to be a logical traffic solution, but the implications are far-reaching.”
