Despite the struggles of the offense, the defense for the Denver Broncos is playing as well as any unit in the league. That is the biggest reason for the team's 4-2 record.
The Broncos are generating a good pass rush and playing well in the secondary, despite injuries to Pat Surtain II, Riley Moss and Talanoa Hufanga. In the team's most recent win over Seattle, it had to turn to some reserves with both Surtain and Hufanga out of the lineup.
The play of Kris Abrams-Draine should not be overlooked.
Abrams-Draine had made just three starts in his career prior to this season, but he's proven to be a dependable option when his number has been called. That was the case again on Thursday.
With Moss playing sparingly while still recovering from a rib injury that forced him to miss the team's Week 5 game, Abrams-Draine saw an increased role against the Seahawks and made the most of it. His three pass breakups were a career high, and he led the team in that category on Thursday night.
He also came up with this critical defensive play:

That interception should have clinched the victory for the Broncos, but it still went a long way in the team getting the win. He also held his own against Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who is playing as well as any receiver in the league.
The Broncos should feel extremely confident in what they have at the cornerback position. A fifth-round pick in 2024, KAD will be a key player for the team going forward, and with Moss and Ja'Quan McMillian set to become unrestricted free agents following this season, he could be a big factor in what the team decides to do with their contracts.
