BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Thursday took a sharp swipe at Rahul Gandhi over his reported trip to Vietnam, accusing the Congress MP of inciting people to protest before travelling abroad.
Speaking to reporters, Dubey claimed that Gandhi had travelled abroad 270 times in the past 10 years and questioned why he went to Vietnam and whom he met during those visits.
“Now, after inciting the people, Rahul Gandhi has travelled to Vietnam. Why does he travel to Vietnam or any other foreign locations, and whom does he meet there?” Dubey asked.
#WATCH | Dumka, Jharkhand | BJP MP Nishikant Dubey says, "For the past 10–15 days, it was felt as though there were no rules or laws in place in Delhi. The LoP went out for lunch or dinner, and then proceeded to stage a sit-in protest somewhere. It was seen that people—some of whom may have never hoisted the Tiranga in their lives—were arriving at these sites carrying the national flag. The manner in which the Tiranga was used suggested a complete lack of respect or regard for its dignity. In the last 10 years, LoP Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi travelled abroad 270 times. Now, after inciting the people and youth, Rahul Gandhi has now travelled to Vietnam. Why does he travel to Vietnam and abroad, and whom does he meet there? He regularly met Ilhan Omar and Ro Khanna in the US. Ilhan Omar is a public representative who went to Pakistan and said that Kashmir was a part of Pakistan. Now, the Trump administration is conducting raids on Ilhan Omar's family. My question to Rahul Gandhi is: On whose instructions did he meet Ilhan Omar?"— ANI (@ANI) October 22, 2026
The BJP MP also questioned Gandhi’s meetings with US lawmakers Ilhan Omar and Ro Khanna.
"Ilhan Omar is a public representative who went to Pakistan and said that Kashmir was a part of Pakistan. Now, the Trump administration is conducting raids on Ilhan Omar's family. My question to Rahul Gandhi is: On whose instructions did he meet her?" Dubey asked.
Taking aim at the Opposition’s recent protests in the national capital, Dubey said that for the past 10–15 days, it had appeared as though there were no rules or laws in Delhi.
Gandhi "went out for lunch or dinner, and then proceeded to stage a sit-in protest somewhere."
Dubey went on to criticise the use of the national flag during the demonstrations, accusing protesters of showing disregard for its dignity.
Dubey's remarks come as the BJP has accused Gandhi of going on holiday following the massive Opposition protests against the Election Commission over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.
On Tuesday, the party shared a video on X purportedly showing Gandhi aboard a flight to Vietnam.
BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra also criticised the Congress MP on Thursday and accused him of conspiring to bring about “regime change” without elections.
Patra claimed that the Congress was attempting to create unrest to revive Gandhi’s political fortunes, alleging that efforts were being made to spread anarchy to “relaunch Rahul Gandhi”.
