La Liga side Getafe have made a formal offer to sign former Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho as the England international weighs his options after becoming a free agent.
The 26-year-old is without a club following the expiry of his contract in the summer, with several teams reportedly considering a move for the former Borussia Dortmund player.
However, BBC Sport reported on Thursday that reaching an agreement with Getafe could prove complicated, although the Spanish club are keen to find a solution and strengthen their squad.
Sancho is reportedly interested in leaving England but remains open to different opportunities as he considers the next stage of his career.
Manchester United signed the winger from Borussia Dortmund for £73 million in 2021, but he struggled to secure a regular place at Old Trafford. He subsequently spent loan spells at Dortmund, Chelsea and Aston Villa.
Sancho made 39 appearances for Aston Villa last season as Unai Emery’s side enjoyed a successful campaign that included Europa League success and qualification for the Champions League.
He also featured as a late substitute in Villa’s Europa League final victory over Freiburg, marking his third appearance in a European final in three consecutive seasons.
His loan spell at Chelsea during the 2024-25 campaign included an obligation to buy. However, Chelsea reportedly paid a £5 million penalty to send him back to Manchester United after he made 41 appearances for the London club.
While searching for his next club, Sancho has continued training and regularly shared videos of his sessions on Instagram.
He also recently visited non-league club Flixton, prompting the North West Counties League outfit to clarify that he was not on trial with the team.

Getafe, who sit 14th in La Liga and are competing in the Europa Conference League this season, are seeking to strengthen their squad and could provide Sancho with an opportunity to relaunch his career in Spanish football.
The club also signed former Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal on a free transfer earlier this week. The 34-year-old right-back, who won 27 trophies with Madrid, including six Champions League titles, has agreed to a contract running until June 2027.
Although Getafe have made an offer for Sancho, negotiations are ongoing, and it remains uncertain whether the two parties will reach an agreement.
