South African hip-hop artist Mthembeni Ndevu, better known as Emtee, has severed ties with his manager Hlubi Radebe, with the split formalised through an official statement released by Emtee Records.
According to the statement, Radebe no longer holds any authority to conduct business on behalf of the rapper or his label. This includes booking performances, handling public relations, or engaging in any form of commercial dealings linked to either Emtee or Emtee Records.
"With immediate effect, all booking requests, business communications, and general enquiries relating to Emtee or Emtee Records should be directed to Emtee Records Management," the statement reads.
A representative named Vanessa has been identified as the new point of contact, with the label consolidating its operations under her going forward. Their working relationship, which began at the start of 2026, has come to an abrupt end, though Emtee Records has not publicly addressed the reasons behind the decision. Sources close to the industry, however, suggest that financial disagreements and internal restructuring within the independent label played a role.
This is not the first time the Roll Up hitmaker has found himself at the centre of a management shake-up. In October 2024, Emtee parted ways with Siya "Scorpio Siya" Mdluli under similarly public circumstances. Reports at the time painted a complicated picture, with claims that Emtee was difficult to work with and expected a level of hand-holding that strained the professional relationship.
There was also a period during which Emtee chose to manage himself entirely, a decision he made no effort to conceal. With another managerial departure now on record, it appears the rapper continues to struggle to maintain stable management arrangements.
