Athens’ Panepistimio metro station will close at 10 a.m. Wednesday as police introduce emergency measures ahead of demonstrations by students and school pupils in the city center.
Metro trains will continue to pass through Panepistimio station but will not stop there while the closure remains in effect.
Passengers traveling to or from central Athens, particularly the area around Propylaea where the demonstration is taking place, are advised to use the nearby Syntagma or Omonia metro stations instead.
Panepistimio station will remain closed until further notice.
