The countdown to the 11th edition of the Lagos Women Run has begun, with organisers confirming November 14 as the date for this year’s 10km race.
The annual event is expected to attract women runners from different parts of Nigeria and across the world, with Tafawa Balewa Square serving as the starting and finishing point.
Registration for the 2026 edition opened in August, and organisers say entries are still coming in from across the country and beyond.
Coordinator of the event, Tayo Popoola, disclosed on Monday that the countdown began on October 14, marking exactly one month to the race. She spoke after a meeting with agencies involved in preparations for the event.
Popoola said the organisers were working to deliver an improved experience for participants, building on previous editions.
She said: “We have been working hard and in our usual way, we want this edition to be better than the last, we just have to keep improving on what we are doing.
