Water supply issues at HMP Barlinnie have been resolved after three days of disruption.
It comes after the Glasgow prison said an issue on its E-hall wing was identified at around 4pm on Thursday.
Scottish Water completed work on the water supply on Friday; however, a spokesperson for the prison said it it was only a partial fix and that the issue was “proving difficult to fully resolve”.
They then confirmed there would be reduced water levels throughout the weekend.
STV News understands that certain individuals were affected by toilets that did not flush overnight.
The prison said it took delivery of a further 2,000 2-litre bottles and distributed them throughout the day to those affected by water supply issues.
The SPS has now confirmed water is running in the prison again.
A Scottish Prison Service spokesperson said: “The water supply issues in HMP Barlinnie have now been resolved.
“Staff have worked tirelessly throughout the weekend and we are grateful to them and to those in our care for their understanding.”
