Galle, Oct 25 (Daily Mirror): Twenty-seven crew members aboard Iranian crude oil tankers anchored off the southern coast of Sri Lanka were brought ashore yesterday afternoon after falling ill, according to the Southern Province Senior Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Office.
The evacuation was carried out following the intervention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the Sri Lanka Navy deploying two craft to transport the sick crew members from the vessels to the Galle Port.
The crew member reportedly transfered to a private hospital in Colombo for further medical treatment.
